Buitenverwachting to open new restaurant

A new restaurant named Beyond will shortly be opening at Buitenverwachting in Constantia to be run by acclaimed chef Peter Tempelhoff, who also operates Cape Town establishment Fyn, number five in the Top 10 at last year’s Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards. In a statement via social media, Tempelhoff said that he will be employing a staff of 25 and that the new restaurant would be “completely different to Fyn but just as awesome” – bookings can be made via info@beyondrestaurant.co.za and are welcomed from 28 November onwards.

In other news, Tintswalo Atlantic and Liam Tomlin recently announced a joint venture that saw the opening of a new Chefs Warehouse at the boutique hotel on Chapman’s Peak Drive earlier this month. The new kitchen is run by 25-year-old chef Braam Beyers, who has spent the last four years of his career at Chefs Warehouse Beau Constantia under the guidance of Ivor Jones (who takes on the role of chef patron at Tintswalo).

These are both hugely positive developments for the local hospitality industry after it was revealed that the highly regarded restaurant at Waterkloof in Somerset West is, unfortunately, closing – see here.
