After an address by President Cyril Ramaphosa last night, South Africa is back at at Alert Level 3 in an attempt to slow the spread of Coronavirus. In terms of the regulations, the sale of alcohol from retail outlets is not permitted. Nightclubs, bars, taverns and shebeens are closed to the public. Restaurants remain open but must close by 20h00 while the nighttime curfew has been extended and now applies from 21h00 to 06h00 and the on-site consumption of alcohol is not permitted. Wineries are not allowed to conduct tastings or sell wine. Transport of wine for export purposes, from manufacturing plants to storage facilities or from any licensed premises for safekeeping is still allowed. All provisions will be reviewed after a period of two weeks.
