With effect from 1 May, Dewaldt Heyns is now managing executive at the French-owned company Iwayini that has acquired both Neethlingshof and Villiera.
Heyns was previously general manager and cellarmaster at Saronsberg in Tulbagh, having joined that property in October 2003.

Huge loss for Saronsberg. Neetlingshof and Villiera now has the best Shiraz winemaker in SA.

Absolutely Rainer, and/but there’s gotta be so much more to this story. Rijk’s and Saronsberg lose their top winemakers within six months of each other, gone to bigger jobs but… Something about Tulbagh?!

This is certainly Saronsberg’s loss and Iwayini’s huge gain.
