Judging for the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show concluded

The 2013 Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show attracted 1039 entries – up on last year’s 1022. The entry breakdown by classes was as follows: Shiraz 124; Chardonnay 103; Cabernet Sauvignon 96; Bordeaux-style red blends 97; Sauvignon Blanc 113; Merlot 52; Pinotage 52; Chenin Blanc 55; Pinot Noir 30, MCC 43; Semillon 10, Viognier 16 and Riesling 10.
Judging finished yesterday and results will be announced at the awards function to be held at the Mount Nelson Hotel on 30 May. Public tastings take place on Friday 7 June at the Sandton Convention Centre (18h00 – 21h00) and on Thursday 13 June at the CTICC (17h00 – 20h30). Tickets are available via Computicket at www.computicket.com and cost R150.
