Boschkloof Conclusion 2015

Nothing left to say.

Stellenbosch cellar Boschkloof has attracted attention in recent times for its Epilogue Syrah but what of its Cape Bordeaux red blend? The 2015 consists of 40% Cabernet Franc, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot and was matured in new French oak for 20 months.

The nose shows a floral top note before dark fruit, vanilla, turned earth and spice. The palate is rich and full (alcohol: 14.5) with plenty of sweet, dense fruit and velvety smooth tannins, the finish just about dry. Built to impress. Approximate retail price: R395 a bottle.

Editor’s rating: 91/100.
