Bosman Family Vineyards Bo-Vallei Chenin Blanc 2016
By Christian Eedes, 8 November 2016
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: If your budget doesn’t stretch very far, you’ll be much better served by a R60 bottle of Chenin Blanc than by Sauvignon Blanc at the same price.
Bosman Family Vineyards have a little gem of a Chenin at precisely that price in the form of Bo-Vallei 2016 from a mixture of old and younger vineyards planted in the valley on the outskirts of Wellington towards Bain’s Kloof.
Unoaked, the nose has a very attractive floral top note before pear and white peach while the palate shows concentrated fruit and zippy acidity with a nice pithiness to the finish. Delicious.
