What a beauty Isliedh 2020 from Cape Point Vineyards is. It consists of 80% Sauvignon Blanc fermented in French oak and 20% Semillon in amphorae, maturation lasting 10 months before a further five months in tank.
The nose is magnificently complex with notes of citrus, peach, blackcurrant, fynbos, white pepper and other spice plus a hint of reduction while the palate is rich and thick textured but equally vital and arresting thanks to a great line of acidity. Powerful and yet poised. Price: R400 a bottle.
