The Old Bush Vines Cinsaut 2018 is an engaging drop from Darling Cellars. Grapes from a vineyard planted in 1978, maturation lasted 22 months in mostly older French oak. Cherry, plum, rose, dried herbs, spice and a little earth on the nose before a palate that is rich and full but retains balance thanks to bright acidity and pleasantly grippy tannins, the finish nicely dry. Alcohol is 13.97% and there’s no want for depth of fruit. Price: R200 a bottle.
