Flagstone Free Run Sauvignon Blanc 2015
By Christian Eedes, 7 December 2016
Flagstone Winery is owned by fifth largest wine company in the world Accolade Wines, and the house style is intended to appeal to the broadest possible audience, the wines typically rather showy. This is no bad thing in the case of the Free Run Sauvignon Blanc 2015. From 70% Elgin and 30% Elim grapes, it shows lime, cantaloupe, granadilla and pineapple plus just the right amount of reduction. The palate, meanwhile, has lovely fruit concentration with tangy, nicely coated acidity. Damn sexy, all in all. Price: RXX a bottle.
