Kaapzicht Pinotage 2018

By , 16 March 2020

Round as a ball.

If you like large amounts of fruit in your wine, then look no further than the Pinotage 2018 from Stellenbosch property Kaapzicht. With an alcohol of 14.82%, it certainly isn’t under-ripe but while it might have come across as blown out, it has a nice generosity about it – notes of cherries, plums, vanilla and spice on the nose before a palate that’s sweet and juicy, still quite fresh, the tannins relatively soft. Approximate retail price: R190 a bottle.

CE’s rating: 89/100.
