Kottabos Chenin Blanc 2019

By , 10 February 2020

Unembellished.

A slight label revamp for the 2019 vintage of Kottabos Chenin Blanc from the Bormans of Boschkloof, a nice touch being that credit is given to growers Jozua Joubert and Diaan Kotze.

As usual, the wine is an understated and sophisticated effort. Flowers, hay, dried herbs, citrus and peach on the nose while the palate is light-bodied and nervy – a good core of fruit to go with a nice line of acidity before a pithy finish. Approximate retail price: R195 a bottle.

CE’s rating: 90/100.
