La Motte Pierneef Sauvignon Blanc 2024

By , 7 August 2025

La Motte’s flagship range pays tribute to renowned South African landscape artist Jacob Hendrik Pierneef (1886–1957), and the 2024 vintage of the Sauvignon Blanc bearing his name is suitably refined.

Selling at R180 a bottle, the wine is a blend of 88% Sauvignon Blanc and 12% Semillon, sourced from vineyards in Elim. The nose is expressive with notes of citrus, peach, potpourri, herbs, and a hint of white pepper. The palate shows good fruit concentration and well-integrated acidity, leading to a gently savoury finish. Lean and searing? Not this example. Alc: 13.18%

CE’s rating: 93/100.
