Lomond Cape Agulhas Sauvignon Blanc 2015
By Christian Eedes, 12 October 2015
Lomond Cape Agulhas Sauvignon Blanc 2015 received a bronze medal at the recently announced Veritas Awards 2015, which might suggest it’s not worth bothering with but I think for a quaffer selling for R68.99 a bottle from Vinoteque.co.za, there’s quite a bit to recommend it.
With an abv of 14.29%, it’s rich and ripe. A top note of fynbos before lime and granadilla on the nose, while the palate shows plenty of fruit and nicely coated acidity – it actually appears sweet but technically is not, the residual sugar being 2.6g/l.
#WinemagRating: 88/100.
