Oak Valley Groenlandberg Chardonnay 2021

The 2020 vintage of Groenlandberg Chardonnay 2021 from Elgin property Oak Valley placed Top 10 with a rating of 93 in last year’s category report sponsored by Prescient and the 2021 is again excellent.

Matured for 10 months in 300-litre barrels of which 30% new, the aromatics are enticing with notes of blossom, pear, peach, lime, lemon, green apple and just a little flinty reduction while the palate has a dense core of fruit matched by vibrant acidity, the wine moving with elegance and grace from start to finish. Price: R260 a bottle.
