Rousseau Grace Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Well upholstered.

André Rousseau, formerly of Constantia Uitsig, now makes wine under his own label, the Grace Sauvignon Blanc 2017 just released and comprising 47% of grapes from Darling, 47% from Durbanvile and 6% Elgin, this latter portion undergoing barrel fermentation.

The nose is very becoming with notes of elderflower, lime, white peach and grapefruit while the palate is rich and thick textured, some sweetness helping to coat the acidity (RS is 4g/l) – ideal for those who typically find this variety too severe. Price: R105 a bottle.

Editor’s rating: 89/100.
