The Garajeest Jim Semillon 2015
Price: R240
From Elgin grapes. 50% tank fermented and 50% fermented and matured for seven months in older oak. Pear, peach and yellow apple plus white pepper and a hint of leesy character on the nose. Rich with moderate acidity, some nice savoury tug to the finish.
#WinemagRating: 89/100.
The Garajeest Bruce Cabernet Franc 2015
From Elgin grapes. Matured for 11 months in mainly older oak. Appealing aromatics of dark fruit, the vaguest hint of leafiness and some chocolate. The palate is rich, full and smooth in texture. Alcohol is 15.5% which the wine carries surprisingly well although slightly earlier picking may have resulted in more detail.
#WinemagRating: 87/100.

Had the wines at Young Guns. Generous score on the Bruce. That Cab Franc is one of the most unbalanced wines I’ve ever tasted. How it passed certification is beyond me.
