Uva Mira Sing-a-Wing Sauvignon Blanc 2015

If you’re going to offer two top-end versions of Sauvignon Blanc, then it makes sense to make them stylistically diverse. Uva Mira in Stellenbosch has The Mira 2015 at R135 a bottle and the yet-to-be-released Sing-a-Wing 2015 set to sell at R190 and they do indeed present contrasting representations of the variety under local conditions. Honeydew melon, granadilla and pineapple on the nose and palate. Ripe and full but this offset by tangy acidity. Some might find it a bit too forceful but it’s very well assembled.

Enticing aromatics of pear, white peach, lime and fynbos while the palate possesses weightless intensity. There’s a great line of acidity and the finish is long and pithy. Focused and precise.
