Wild thing.
The Grenache 2015 made from Piekenierskloof grapes by Vriesenhof shows red fruit and spice but also a definite meaty quality on the nose and palate. In stark contrast to the “pretty” versions of the variety out there, it certainly holds the attention but it’s not as fine as previous vintages of this wine. Wine Cellar price: R335 a bottle.
