After a series of pop-up restaurants in Johannesburg, leading chef Luke Dale Roberts will be opening The Shortmarket Club JHB on a permanent basis at 1 Oxford Parks in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

The original Shortmarket Club in Cape Town was one of the Top 20 Restaurants in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Eat Out Restaurant Awards.

Décor of The Shortmarket Club JHB will be “brasserie and smoky cigar lounge” in style and the kitchen will offer a fine-dining small plate, Asian-influenced menu complemented by a variety of prime cuts of meat cooked to order and seafood platters. Co-owners along with Dale Roberts are property and entertainment entrepreneurs Heinz Rynners and Brad Cilliers of The Greenhouse JHB and Babylon Bar.  The restaurant aims to open in October with Taryn Smith as head chef.
