Morgenster’s Giulio Bertrand dies

Morgenster Wine & Olive Estate in Somerset West has announced that owenr Giulio Bertrand passed away yesterday afternoon. He died of a heart attack.
Bertrand originally worked for the family textile business in Italy, being the fifth generation to do so. He acquired Morgenster in 1992 overseeing its restoration and then establishing both vineyards (with Pierre Lurton of Château Cheval Blanc as consultant) and olive groves.
The property will advise regarding a memorial service in due course.
