Axle Chenin Blanc 2020

By , 30 June 2021

Axle Chenin Blanc is made by Alex Milner of Natte Valleij, grapes from a Darling block planted in 1985 and certified with the Old Vine Project.

The nose of the 2020 is exotic with notes of potpourri, yellow peach, some waxy character, ginger, and other spice while the palate is as rich and deep as previous releases although alcohol remains a modest 12%. Tangy acidity lends balance while the finish is savoury and quite grippy. Price: R190 a bottle.

CE’s rating: 92/100.
