Boschkloof Syrah 2022

Epilogue Syrah from Boschkloof in Stellenbosch has quickly become one of the country’s most desirable wines but the standard label at less than a third of the price (R280 a bottle vs R900) is also very much worth considering.
Winemaking for the 2022 involved 15% whole-bunch fermentation before maturation lasting 14 months in a combination of concrete and barrels, a small portion of which were new.
The aromatics are complex with notes of red and black berries, hints of violets and fynbos, smoked meat, earth and spice. The palate is succulent and full of verve – good fruit depth, fresh acidity and powdery tannins. Precise but not too polished.
CE’s rating: 93/100.

Christian, are you sure about the 2022 vintage? If I am not mistaken the 2022 vintage has been sold out and the 2023 vintage is now available

Hi Wessel, You are correct that the farm is currently selling 2023 (which I hope to review soon). I bought the 2022 off the shelf from Liquor City Claremont (retail price: R292.99).
