From the Nederburg Auction preview tasting: Whereas so many of serious SA red wines from the 1990s and 2000s struggle with composure the Grangehurst 2005 is looking imacculate. A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot, it shows red and black fruit, violets and fresh herbs in the best sense. Succulent yet savoury with lovely freshness and fine tannins. Classic stuff.
12 cases consisting of three-bottle magnums available. Reserve price per case: R2 000.
