Harry Hartman Finn 2020

By , 30 January 2023

Sean “Harry” Harrison is a key stakeholder in Harry Hartman Wines and Finn is his “(a)lways beautiful, sometimes contemputous” cat that lends his name to this red wine, a blend of Shiraz sourced from Cederberg and Stellenbosch, Grenache from Piekenierskloof and Cinsault from Swartland.

The 2020 is accessible but not at all facile. Red and black berries, orange, floral perfume, white pepper and spice on the nose before a palate that’s medium bodied, the acidity lively, the tannins fine-grained. At R195 a bottle, it offers good quality relative to price.

CE’s rating: 91/100.
