Harry Hartman Summer Sauvignon Blanc 2022
By Christian Eedes, 13 December 2022
Harry Hartman Wine Co. sees graphic designer Sean “Harry” Harrison, Cape Town businessman Marcel Hartman and friends collaborating with top winemakers to produce a range of premium small-batch wines – eye-catching packaging is also part of the proposition and they won bronze for their Finn Syrah Grenache Cinsaut 2020, silver for the range, and gold for their Myst Pinot Noir 2021 at the recent Label Design Awards sponsored by Rotolabel.
The Summer Sauvignon Blanc 2022 is made from Elgin fruit. The nose shows elderflower, citrus, peach and yellow apple while the palate is rich and round with a creamy texture and coated acidity, the finish gently savoury. Nothing too green or severe about it, this is as sophisticated as its label. Price: R165 a bottle.
CE’s rating: 91/100.
