Journey’s End Vineyards x Interpunkt new releases

By , 29 June 2023

The new Journey’s End Vineyards x Interpunkt wines catch the attention due to being packaged in paperboard bottles – made from 100% recyclable paperboard outers, these are five times lighter than a normal glass bottle alternative, with a lower carbon footprint.

Journey’s End outside Somerset West is owned by the Gabb family – Roger Gabb was the original brains behind the successful Kumala brand. Interpunkt, meanwhile, belongs to Andrew Ingham, an international wine buyer with 20 years’ experience in both the on and off-trade around the world.

Journey’s End x Interpunkt consist of a Sauvignon Blanc 2022 and a Shiraz 2022 and are available at R119.99 a bottle from select Checkers, Checkers Hyper and Checkers LiquorShop stores. It’s an intriguing initiative except for the fact that the intrinsic quality of the wines is no more than fair. There’s better drinking to be had for less money…
