Swartberg Wingerde Holism Garnacha 2021

Rudiger Gretschel, the production director for Vinimark, also makes wine under his own Swartberg Wingerde label, all grapes sourced from Piekernierskloof.
His Holism Garnacha 2021 is largely unwooded, the nose showing raspberry, strawberry, plum and white pepper while the palate is juicy and fresh with powdery tannins. It’s elegant and understated, ripe fruit initially providing the appeal but there’s nice structure here, too. Price: R230 a bottle.
